Ran Fridrich

Mr. Fridrich co-founded Oristan, the management company of the Crystal Funds, in 2004 and had primary management responsibilities for the Crystal Funds program. Mr. Fridrich’s knowledge in CDOs prompted him to launch a proprietary investment advisory business in 2001 that focused primarily on fixed-income securities, CDO and credit default swap (CDS) transactions. As part of his business, Mr. Fridrich also tailored various CDS products and structured notes for institutional and corporate investors. Prior to this, Mr. Fridrich served as general manager of two packaging and collating companies based in Israel.

On top of his role at Oristan, Mr. Fridrich is the CEO of Ellomay Capital Ltd., a public company, listed on both New York Stock Exchange and Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange, which focuses its business in the energy and infrastructure sectors world wide since 2009. Prior to that date, Ellomay had a digital printing business which it sold in its entirety to Hewlett-Packard Company for more than $100 million. To date, Ellomay has evaluated numerous opportunities and invested significant funds in the renewable, clean energy and natural resources fields both in Israel, Italy and Spain.

Mr. Fridrich graduated from the Senior Executive Program at Tel Aviv University. He also served as Colonel in the Israeli army.

Menahem Raphael

Mr. Raphael co-founded Oristan in 2004. He was formerly a practising attorney within law firms. In 1983, Mr. Raphael started his own law practice in Tel Aviv, specializing in commercial and real estate transactions. After practicing law for over 18 years, Mr. Raphael co-founded CML, an investment and real estate development firm that primarily invests in equity and fixed-income securities, including income-generating real estate located in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom. Mr. Raphael also created trust arrangements and developed sophisticated financial securities, such as range accruals credit default swap agreements, for his benefit and for the benefit of high-net worth investors.

On top of his role at Oristan, Mr. Raphael is a Director of Ellomay Capital Ltd a public company, listed on both New York Stock Exchange and Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange, which focuses its business in the energy and infrastructure sectors world wide since 2009. Mr. Raphael received both his Bachelors degree and L.L.V. from Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He was admitted to the bar in Israel and California.

Olivier Gozlan

Mr. Gozlan is the Portfolio Manager of the Crystal and BK Opportunities Funds since 2006. He is responsible for monitoring positions, identifying new opportunities, negotiating with counterparties, presenting trade ideas to the investment committee and trading upon relevant approval.

Prior to joining Crystal Fund, Mr. Gozlan spent 3 years at JPMorgan as a CDO structurer, responsible for various aspects from origination to execution of new CDO transactions, as well as restructuring seasoned transactions. He has also been involved in several research projects with focus on quantitative modelling and analysis. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Mr. Gozlan worked for a year in the R&D team at Calyon where he participated in designing and developing pricing and risk management tools for the Fixed Income trading floor. Mr. Gozlan was particularly involved in incorporating a stochastic volatility model into the pricing library.

Mr. Gozlan holds a Master of Engineering degree (Honors) in Financial Mathematics from the National Engineering School of Applied Mathematics of Grenoble (“ENSIMAG”), France, and a post graduate degree (High Honors) in Finance, from the Doctoral School of Management, University of Grenoble. He achieved his Master thesis in conjunction with Société Générale, where he spent 6 months working on CDO quantitative analysis.

In 2012, Mr. Gozlan received the CreditFlux award of Best ABS/CDO Hedge Fund Manager.
Mr. Gozlan is also involved in various charitable projects (as manager or trustee), which finance schools and educational programs.
